Building upon the success of our model school which launched in 2019, KEY academy is committed to democratising access to 21st-century, project-based education across Nigeria and beyond. We do this through four key pillars:​​​​​​

Our four focus areas of work
1 - Model school
Our school in Lagos, Nigeria, demonstrates what 21st-century, project-based education looks like for children aged 18 months to 18 years old in a Nigerian context. Since launch, we have been committed to delivering excellence, and our world-class secondary school will be opening its doors in September 2027.
2 - Strategic events
We design large-scale learning experiences that promote 21st-century skills, spark curiosity, and showcase talent. From student and educator conferences, to national competitions such as ChessMasters, now Africa’s largest annual primary school chess tournament.
3 - Teacher training and accreditation
Our digital platform, ImpactEducators, equips primary and secondary educators across Nigeria with world-class training, resources, and accreditation pathways through a proprietary mobile app, empowering them in a way never seen before.
4 - Publishing and policy advocacy
We are developing locally produced books and digital content in Nigeria’s three most widely spoken languages, hausa, igbo, and yoruba. In addition, we are working with NGOs and our local and national government to help shape educational policy reform.
