Our school

KEY (Keep Educating Yourself) academy is a forward-looking, transformative school for children aged 18 months to 18 years old, offering a new model for education, which puts the child at the centre of the learning experience. Through our local and global network of co-learners (our term for ‘teachers’), subject matter experts, mentors and industry leaders, we have replaced memorisation and testing with projects that are real, relevant, meaningful, and applicable not only to current global challenges, but those of the world our children will inherit.

The world desperately needs voracious self-directed learners who see tough problems as solvable puzzles, which they are more than capable of overcoming. The current global model of education was designed almost 150 years ago, and although it catered to the challenges of the industrial revolution, it does not adequately prepare children for a rapidly evolving world. KEY is revolutionising the approach to education on the continent, equipping the next generation with the 21st century skills they need to change the world.

We have developed a bespoke curriculum which is 100% project based and tailored to our local context, while leveraging the development goals of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework in England to guide our learning for our preschool aged children, and England’s National Curriculum for children aged 5 years and above.  This helps us ensure that core numeracy and literacy objectives are met, while creating completely bespoke and unique activities and projects that develop 21st century skills.
